The ESG Shipping Awards International is an annual maritime awards gala held in Athens, organised by Maritime Impact L.P. to recognise environmental, social and governance performance across the global shipping industry. The fourth consecutive edition was held on Friday 15 May 2026 at the Asteria Glyfada [DOMUS] venue on the Athens Riviera.
The awards were first held in 2023, debuting at the Athens Concert Hall on 30 May with more than 200 nominations across 11 categories, and present themselves as the first ESG-focused shipping awards globally. The 2026 edition drew more than 400 maritime companies and a record of nearly 300 entries, more than half of them from international firms across every continent. Helena Athoussaki, the awards’ principal, chairs the programme, and entries are assessed by a judging committee of maritime academics and professionals that includes Professor Andreas Papandreou.
The categories include the ESG Leader Award and the Environmental Leader Award, open to shipping companies that own or operate vessels. The ceremony and gala dinner are paired with a conference held later in the year, also in Athens.
