The ESG Shipping Awards International is Maritime Impact L.P.'s annual maritime awards gala in Athens; the fifth edition is expected in mid-May 2027, following the fourth on 15 May 2026 at Asteria Glyfada, which drew more than 400 maritime companies.
The ESG Shipping Awards International is Maritime Impact L.P.’s annual awards gala for environmental, social and governance performance across the shipping industry, held in Athens since 2023 and presented by its organiser as the first ESG shipping awards worldwide. The fifth edition is expected in mid-May 2027; the two most recent ceremonies fell on 23 May 2025 and 15 May 2026, both at the Asteria Glyfada [DOMUS] venue on the Athens Riviera.
The fourth edition, held on Friday 15 May 2026 under the auspices of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Insular Policy and the Hellenic Chamber of Shipping, drew more than 400 maritime companies and close to 300 entries, more than half of them from international firms. Helena Athoussaki, the awards’ principal organiser, closed the 2026 ceremony by announcing the platform’s expansion into Asia in 2027.
Entries are assessed by an international judging committee chaired by Jan Fransen that includes Professor Andreas Papandreou, across 10 categories including the ESG Leader Award and the Environmental Leader Award. The ceremony and gala dinner are paired with a standalone conference held later in the year in Athens; the 2026 conference is set for 19 November at Asteria DOMUS.
