Each contribution is a one-off payment, from $100, and gives you access for life. No subscription is required. You can contribute again at any time from your account.

Your contribution

Enter any amount from $100. Above $5,000, we arrange the contribution with you in writing.

Your contribution will be processed securely by Stripe. We do not collect or store your payment card details. The amount charged may be displayed in your local currency. By contributing, you agree to the Friends of the House Terms.

Before you join

Will I need to pay again?

No. You pay once and stay a Friend for life. Nothing renews, and we keep no card on file.

Each year, on the date of your first contribution, we write to thank you and to invite another. You can turn that letter off in your account.

When does my access begin?

As soon as your payment is taken. Before you pay, Stripe asks you to confirm that you want access at once, and explains how that affects your right to cancel.

Does giving more change what I receive?

No. Every Friend receives the same things, whatever they give. You can give again at any time from your account, and you never have to. Each contribution adds to your total, and your recognition follows that total.

What can I read without becoming a Friend?

Anyone can read a few pages in each section in any 30 days. A Friend of the House reads all of it with no limit: every Story and Guide, every destination page with its House Notes and Anchorage Notes, every Calendar event and the whole mythology reference. New pages open to you as soon as we publish them.

How do introductions and partner offers work?

Tell us what you need, and we introduce you to an advisor in our network in Greece. From then on you deal with that advisor directly, under the advisor’s own terms and professional responsibility.

Selected partners in Greece also make offers open only to Friends of the House. You take up each offer with the partner directly, under the partner’s own terms.

What happens if a contribution is refunded?

If a refund takes your total below $100, your access ends and we write to let you know. A new contribution of $100 or more restores it.

If your total stays at $100 or more, your access continues, and your recognition follows the new total.

What language do you write to me in?

We write to Friends of the House in English.
