Samos Young Artists Festival
The Samos Young Artists Festival is the Schwarz Foundation's annual music festival at the Ancient Theatre of Pythagorion — an open-air stage above the Aegean on the southern shore of Samos. The 16th edition runs from 7 to 14 August 2026, presenting evening concerts of emerging musicians across a range of genres.
The Samos Young Artists Festival is the Schwarz Foundation’s annual music festival, held each August at the Ancient Theatre of Pythagorion on the southern shore of Samos, Greece. The Schwarz Foundation is a private Munich foundation that also operates Art Space Pythagorion on the island. The festival has been held each August since 2010. The 16th edition runs from 7 to 14 August 2026, under the artistic direction of Masha Ilyashov and Timotheos Gavriilidis-Petrin.
The 2026 programme presents evening concerts across a range of musical traditions — gypsy jazz from the Marion & Sobo Band, violin and string ensemble, solo piano, a jazz night and Romantic repertoire. The festival presents emerging musicians drawn from different countries and traditions. The Schwarz Foundation has also run a children’s and youth choir on Samos since 2016, and the festival’s ticket prices are set to be accessible to island residents.
