Release Athens

Release Athens is an annual summer music festival held at Plateia Nerou, the open-air ground of the Olympic complex at Faliro. The festival launched in 2016 and is promoted by Fuzz Productions. The 2025 edition ran on ten nights between Saturday 7 June and Wednesday 23 July.

Avenged Sevenfold opened the edition on 7 June, their first concert in Greece. IDLES headlined on 18 June, Pavlos Pavlidis on 21 June and Fontaines D.C. on 27 June. The Prodigy played on 4 July with Pendulum, and London Grammar on 11 July with AURORA.

Kylie Minogue headlined on 18 July, with Loreen on the same bill. Gojira followed on 19 July, and Dream Theater closed the edition on 23 July with Mastodon and Haken. Morrissey was billed for 16 July but cancelled after an injury to a member of his band, and Supergrass and The Damned played that night in his place.

The 2026 edition, the festival’s 10th anniversary, ran on 18 nights, most of them at Plateia Nerou. From 2027 the festival moves to the Markopoulo Complex, on the Markopoulo Olympic property.
