The Molyvos International Music Festival is an annual chamber-music festival held in Molyvos, a medieval village on the northern shore of Lesvos. It was founded in August 2015 by the German-Greek pianist sisters Danae and Kiveli Dörken. The twelfth edition runs from 12 to 19 August 2026 under the theme Eudaimonia, Aristotle’s word for the fulfilled and meaningful life.
The 2026 performers include the violinist Antje Weithaas, the cellists Andreas Brantelid and Benedict Klöckner, the violist Tomoko Akasaka, the clarinettist Sebastian Manz, the vibraphonist Pascal Schumacher, and the composer Sven Helbig. The programme includes a world premiere by the Greek composer Christos Papageorgiou.
Concerts are held at several sites across Lesvos: an opening evening at the Castle of Mytilene, a performance at the Ovriokastro above ancient Antissa, an evening at the Museum of Industrial Olive-Oil Production at Agia Paraskevi, and three closing performances at the seafront park of Molyvos.
