The Private Kitchen is a chef’s-table dining venue at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino, on Navarino Bay in Messenia, in the southwest Peloponnese. Guests are seated at a counter overlooking an open kitchen, where the resident chef Bertrand Valegeas cooks on Friday and Saturday evenings. Across the 2026 season the counter also stages a residency of visiting three-Michelin-star chefs.
The 2026 line-up brings Frédéric Anton of Le Pré Catelan in Paris, Julien Royer of Odette in Singapore, and Arnaud Lallement of L’Assiette Champenoise near Reims, each holding three Michelin stars. They are scheduled to cook dinners at The Private Kitchen through the season, which opens on 31 March 2026 when the resort returns from its winter closure. Individual dinner dates are published with the resort’s seasonal programme.
Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino holds Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star ratings for both the hotel and its spa. Its grounds incorporate more than 2,700 olive trees and were recognised at the AHEAD awards for Landscaping & Outdoor Spaces and Resort Design. The Private Kitchen is one of nine dining venues at the property, among them Oliviera, where Sotiris Evangelou cooks regional Greek food, and Pizza Sapienza by Daniele Cason.
