A Streetcar Named Desire is a ballet production by the Greek National Opera Ballet, choreographed by Valentina Turcu and based on Tennessee Williams’s play. It is staged at the Stavros Niarchos Hall across five evenings on 12, 20 and 21 February and 6 and 7 March 2027. The production is a co-production with the Maribor Slovene National Theatre, where it received its world premiere on 6 March 2026. Turcu also holds the musical dramaturgy; the score is drawn from works by Max Richter, Björk and Eliza Lumley.
The creative team comprises sets by Marko Japelj, costumes by Alan Hranitelj and lighting by Aleksandar Čavlek. The Greek National Opera Ballet performs the production with its own principals, soloists and corps de ballet. General booking opened on 1 November 2026. The Stavros Niarchos Hall is the principal stage of the Greek National Opera within the Renzo Piano–designed Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre in Kallithea, where the company has been based since 2017.
