The Queen of Spades is Tchaikovsky’s opera staged by the Greek National Opera across eight performances at the Stavros Niarchos Hall from 6 December 2026 to 5 January 2027, directed by Stephen Langridge and conducted by Dmitri Jurowski.
The design is by Katie Davenport, with sets and costumes based on Pushkin’s tale of obsession; lighting is by Peter Mumford. The cast comprises the tenor Dmitry Golovnin as Herman, Tassis Christoyannis as Prince Yeletsky, Matilde Wallevik as the Countess and Dionysios Sourbis as Count Tomsky. The production forms part of the company’s 2026/27 season at the Stavros Niarchos Hall within Renzo Piano’s Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre on the Faliro coast, where the Greek National Opera has been based since 2017.
