Friend of the House
About the Role
Friends of the House are people with a genuine affinity for Greece and the standing, means or connections to help us place the country — and our work — in the right circles.
There is no typical age or profession. Some Friends may come from established families or have known Greece for decades; others may be younger entrepreneurs, investors, collectors or internationally connected individuals already shaping their own circles.
What matters is judgement, discretion and the ability to open doors.
Greek Concierge publishes the Greece that often goes unseen: its people, places, traditions, houses, islands and contemporary culture. A Friend of the House helps that work travel further — through an introduction, a recommendation, an invitation or simply by putting it in front of somebody who should know about it.
The standing is honorary and deliberately light. There are no fixed hours, targets or obligations.
What You Might Do
A Friend of the House might:
- Introduce us to someone we should know
- Share our work within their private, professional or social circles
- Recommend people, places and stories deserving our attention
- Introduce another prospective Friend of the House
- Connect us with families, owners, hoteliers, artists, collectors, captains, entrepreneurs or cultural figures
- Offer insight on a part of Greece they know particularly well
- Lend their name, judgement or perspective to something we are publishing
Nobody is expected to do all of these.
Who You Are
There is no prescribed background, age or career.
We are interested in people who:
- Have a genuine personal connection with Greece and its culture
- Have the personal means, standing or access appropriate to the circles in which Greek Concierge operates
- Move comfortably within international private, social, cultural or business networks
- Know people we would be unlikely to reach through a conventional introduction
- Have judgement people trust
- Understand discretion
- Are selective about what they recommend and whose name they put forward
- Can act independently without being assigned tasks
You might be 25 or 75. What matters is not how long you have been around, but the life you lead, the people you know and what Greece means within it.
English or Greek is sufficient for correspondence with us. Other languages are always welcome.
What We Offer
A Friend of the House becomes part of the private circle around Greek Concierge.
You may be consulted on places or subjects you know, introduced to others within the House and invited to take part in selected conversations, gatherings and initiatives as Greek Concierge develops.
This is not employment and there is no salary. Equally, there is no rota or minimum commitment. Friends contribute when there is something worthwhile to contribute.
We would rather keep the circle small and meaningful than build a long list of names.
Put Your Name Forward
Tell us what Greece means to you, how you know the country and a little about the world you move in. You may also tell us what you feel you could bring to the House — whether that is knowledge, introductions, perspective, reach or something we have not thought to ask for.
We consider every enquiry individually and invite those whose outlook and standing feel right for the House.
