Socratis Malamas at the Theatro Gis
The singer-songwriter Socratis Malamas gave four concerts at the Theatro Gis in Thessaloniki in 2025, on 23 and 24 June and on 15 and 16 September, within the 11th Forest Festival.
Socratis Malamas at the Theatro Gis was a set of four concerts by the Thessaloniki singer-songwriter in the 11th Forest Festival of the State Theatre of Northern Greece. He played on Monday 23 and Tuesday 24 June 2025, and again on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 September 2025.
The first June night sold out, and the organisers added the second. The September concerts followed the same pattern: the Monday sold out and Malamas repeated the programme the next evening. The Theatro Gis is an open-air theatre of 4,332 seats, built in 1998 in a former quarry at Triandria to designs by the architect Manos Perrakis.
The singer Ioulia Karapataki shared the stage with him. The band included Giannis Papatriantafyllou on double bass, Kyriakos Tapakis on laouto and bouzouki, Kleon Antoniou on electric guitar, Kalogiannis Veranis on violin and trumpet, Nikos Magnisalis on drums, Stelios Fragkous on keyboards and Giannis Malamas on percussion and vocals. Novel Vox produced the concerts.
