The Posidonia Cup is a biennial offshore sailing race run out of Mikrolimano in Piraeus, and the occasion that opens Posidonia Week. The 13th edition is scheduled for Friday 2 June 2028, three days before the Posidonia exhibition itself opens at the Metropolitan Expo for its 5 to 9 June run.
The race is co-organised by the Hellenic Offshore Racing Club and Posidonia Exhibitions SA, and draws maritime executives and industry professionals from around the world. Yachts sail in four classes: Performance, Standard, Megayachts, and Classic & Traditional. The 12th edition, held on Friday 29 May 2026, drew more than fifty yachts and over six hundred crew.
HORC was founded at Mikrolimano in 1961 and races from a four-storey neoclassical clubhouse on the harbour. Proceeds from the Cup support the club’s educational programmes. The awards are presented at the waterside on the evening of the race.
