The Naxos Festival is the AEON Cultural Organization’s annual summer arts festival, held since 2001 at the Bazeos Tower — a seventeenth-century fortified monument situated approximately twelve kilometres inland from Naxos Chora on the road to Agiassos. Under the artistic direction of Stelios Krasanakis, the festival holds to the theme “Art – Science – Environment” across a programme of music, dance, theatre, exhibition, and a sustainability conference.
The 25th edition ran from 8 July to 5 October 2025. Its visual-arts strand, titled “The Thread That Holds Us Together”, was developed in situ in the tower’s stone rooms by artists Maria Grigoriou and Yiannis Papadopoulos, drawing on the island’s weaving and handicraft traditions. The 2025 programme also included musicians Ross Daly and Savina Yannatou, and a dance work by the Greek National Opera.
