Kalamata International Dance Festival

The 31st Kalamata International Dance Festival ran from 18 to 27 July 2025 — the leading contemporary-dance encounter in Greece, closing its thirtieth-anniversary season.

The Kalamata International Dance Festival is an annual contemporary-dance festival held in Kalamata, Greece, and the foremost gathering of its kind in the country since its first edition in 1995. The 31st edition ran from 18 to 27 July 2025. Around twenty works by Greek and international choreographers filled ten days across the Main Stage, Alternative Stage and foyer of the Kalamata Dance Megaron, with further performances in the city’s central square, the municipal railway park, the port, and towns across the Peloponnese.

The 2025 edition closed the festival’s thirtieth-anniversary season. Its programme included works by Maguy Marin alongside newly commissioned pieces, and introduced two new strands: Dancing on Screen and Encounters Off Stage.
