Villagers of Ioannina City at the Lycabettus Theatre

Villagers of Ioannina City gave the first live presentation of their third album, Venceremos, at a sold-out Lycabettus Theatre on Sunday 20 September 2026.

Villagers of Ioannina City at the Lycabettus Theatre was the first live presentation of Venceremos, the third album by the rock band from Epirus, on Sunday 20 September 2026. The concert sold out. It was the band’s first Athens show in two years.

Napalm Records released Venceremos a few days before the concert. It came seven years after Age of Aquarius, which the band launched at the Theatro Vrachon on 22 September 2019, and followed their 2014 debut, Riza. Singer and guitarist Alexis Karametis produced and recorded the album at the Magnanimous X Studio in Greece. The band sets heavy rock and psychedelia against the folk music of Epirus, with the gaida and the zurna as part of the line-up.

The band opened with “Home” from the new album and also played “Ghosts in the Sky”, the lead single, and the title track. Older songs included “Age of Aquarius”, “Father Sun” and “Zvara”. The last song, “Requiem”, was dedicated to Pavlos Fyssas on the anniversary of his murder.
