Spetsathlon

The 2025 Spetsathlon took the island across three days of open-water swimming, island cycling and triathlon — the largest triathlon race in Greece, held car-free on Spetses.

Spetsathlon is an annual multi-sport event held on Spetses — the Saronic island that restricts private cars from its centre — organised by the Spetses Mini Marathon and described by its organisers as the largest triathlon race in Greece. The 2025 edition was held from 16 to 18 May.

The programme included open-water swimming in distances of one kilometre and longer, a twenty-five-kilometre cycling loop around the island, a five-kilometre run, and two triathlon formats: a Sprint of 750-metre swim, twenty-five-kilometre bike and five-kilometre run, and an Endurance distance covering twice the swimming distance and a fifty-kilometre ride. The race carries the sanction of the Hellenic Triathlon Federation, with judges certified to European standard.

Award ceremonies were held at the Poseidonion Grand Hotel on the island waterfront.
