Socratis Malamas at the Petra Theatre
Socratis Malamas played three nights at the Petra Theatre in Petroupoli on 22, 23 and 24 June 2026, with Ioulia Karapataki and Giannis Malamas, in the International Petra Festival.
Socratis Malamas at the Petra Theatre was a run of three concerts by the Thessaloniki singer-songwriter under the title “Socratis Malamas – Summer 2026”. He played the Minos Volanakis stage on Monday 22, Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 June 2026, within the International Petra Festival of the Municipality of Petroupoli. The programme mixed familiar songs with new ones he had recently released.
Two nights were announced first. Both sold out, and on 21 May the third concert, on Wednesday 24 June, was added. The singers Ioulia Karapataki and Giannis Malamas shared the stage with him. The band was Giannis Papatriantafyllou on double bass, Kyriakos Tapakis on laouto and bouzouki, Kleon Antoniou on electric guitar, Kalogiannis Veranis on violin, trumpet and vocals, Nikos Magnisalis on drums and Stelios Fragkous on keyboards, with Giannis Malamas also on percussion.
The Petra Theatre occupies the former Aimos quarry in Petroupoli and was first used for performances in 1983, on the proposal of the director Minos Volanakis. Its main stage, named after him, was built in 1995 and seats 4,000.
