The Camerata New Year Concert is an annual concert at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall in which the Camerata – Friends of Music Orchestra performs a programme of Viennese waltzes and polkas in the tradition of the Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert. The 2025 edition was held on 4 January in the Christos Lambrakis Hall, the larger of the Megaron’s two main auditoria, under the conductor George Petrou.

The programme comprised waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss II and Josef Strauss — among them “Wine, Woman and Song”, “Accelerations”, and “A Thousand and One Nights” — alongside French polkas and the overture to “A Night in Venice”, running to approximately two hours and a quarter with interval. The Camerata has held a residency at the Megaron since the hall opened in 1991; the concert is scheduled in the first week of January, before the winter programme begins.
