The Megaron Liederabend of 14 January 2025 was a recital by mezzo-soprano Nefeli Kotseli and pianist Dimitris Yakas, given in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall at Megaron – The Athens Concert Hall. The Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall is the smaller of the Megaron’s auditoria, used by the house for recitals in the German Lied tradition.

The programme was built on two Schumann cycles — “Gedichte der Königin Maria Stuart” and “Frauenliebe und Leben” — alongside Haydn’s cantata “Arianna a Naxos” and three songs by the Greek composer George Kouroupos to poems of Sappho in the rendering of the Nobel laureate Odysseus Elytis. The recital placed German Romantic song alongside twentieth-century Greek vocal music. The Liederabend format pairs a single voice with a single piano, with both performers given equal weight in the programme.
