The Greek Maritime Golf Event

The Greek Maritime Golf Event is the shipping community’s annual golf tournament, held each September in Athens since 2015. It is organised by Birdie Events, an initiative of the Greek PGA professional Thanos Karantzias, with production by ActiveMedia Group. The twelfth edition is expected in early September 2026; the organiser confirms the date and venue closer to the tournament.

The eleventh edition was played on Friday 5 September 2025 at the Glyfada Golf Course “K. Karamanlis”, drawing representatives of more than eighty shipping companies. The format is a four-ball scramble in teams of four, with a golf clinic running alongside, and the 2025 edition gave its proceeds to Floga, the association of parents of children with cancer, for the third consecutive year. The tenth-anniversary edition in September 2024 was held at Costa Navarino in Messinia, where more than ninety maritime executives formed twenty-three teams.
