The Bonhams Greek Sale is a twice-yearly auction of modern and contemporary Greek art, held by Bonhams in partnership with Art Expertise in Athens. It is the only dedicated Greek-art sale held by an international auction house. The department was established in 2002. The spring edition follows a fixed sequence: selected highlights are shown at the Bonhams Athens rooms at Amalias 36 in early May, then the full sale is held at Bonhams Cornette de Saint Cyr on Avenue Hoche in Paris.
The 2026 Athens viewing was held from 4 to 6 May, ahead of the 20 May sale in Paris. It was led by Parthenis’s Poésie (Annunciation), the largest painting by the artist ever offered at auction, estimated at €300,000 to €500,000. The spring 2025 sale totalled more than €2.9 million, with Tsarouchis’s Soldat dansant le zeibekiko at its head at €381,400.
The Athens viewing for the spring 2027 sale is scheduled for early May 2027. The artists typically represented include Parthenis, Tsarouchis, Moralis, and Hadjikyriakos-Ghika.
