Lango Design Hotel & Spa stands on Lambi beach, 2 km from Kos town, with 54 rooms and suites in nine grades. The house takes adults only. Several of the suites carry a private or a sharing pool, and the largest of them look at the sea over a jacuzzi of their own.
The dining room is KOAN Cuisine, where the chefs cook on an open kitchen in front of the guest and serve a la carte. Aither Spa does the face and body treatments in partnership with Ariadne Athens. The pool court and the private beach area are a few steps apart.
The name and the ground
The name comes from the island’s own history. The Knights called Kos “Lango” during the Venetian period, and the hotel borrowed it back.
The port of Kos is 2.1 km from the hotel, and Kos International Airport 21.3 km. Kos town is close enough to reach by bus, by bike or on foot.
The rooms
The nine grades run from 27 to 65 sq m, and each takes up to two guests. Beds are king size, with twins available in the Deluxe Double Rooms on request. Those rooms are up to 27 sq m, with a land or pool view. Above them sit the Junior Suites Sea View at up to 34 sq m, the Elegant Suites Sea View at up to 36 sq m and the Deluxe Suites at up to 40 sq m.
The suites with water of their own run higher. Deluxe Suites with Sharing Pool reach 35 sq m, Design Suites with Private Pool 45 sq m and Superior Suites with Private Pool 50 sq m, each of them looking at the garden or the land. The Master Suite Sea View With Jacuzzi is up to 57 sq m, and the largest room in the house is the Penthouse Sea View Suite with jacuzzi, up to 65 sq m.
Every room has a furnished balcony, terrace or garden patio, a walk-in shower, individually controlled air conditioning, a mini bar, a safe deposit box and a writing desk, with bathrobes, slippers and complimentary Wi-Fi.
The front office and the room service menu run 24 hours. Maid service comes twice a day, laundry and pressing are on request, and parking is free and private. Accessible rooms are available, and the hotel runs its own transfers to the airport and the port.
The table
KOAN Cuisine serves Greek, Italian and Mediterranean dishes, either beside the pool or in the indoor dining room. Its wine list draws on Greek and international grape varieties from the cellar, which also holds champagne. Two bars work either side of it. The pool bar runs from 11am to 7pm, with coffee, cocktails, salads, sandwiches, burgers and pizza from the oven. The all-day bar sits inside KOAN Cuisine and runs from 7.30am to midnight.
The spa, the pool and the beach
Aither Spa works with Ariadne Athens on face and body treatments built on Mediterranean ingredients, and a gym sits alongside it.
Outside, one large swimming pool and two jacuzzis stand among sun-beds, gazebos and palms. The Sunset Lounge looks out over the skyline. The private beach area is a few steps from the rooms, laid with sunbeds and umbrellas, and the pool bar serves it.
Who is this for
Lango suits couples and friends travelling without children, and anyone who would rather walk into town than be driven there. Guests who care most about space and privacy belong at the top of the house, where a sea-facing terrace and a jacuzzi come together, and those who want their own water at ground level should take a suite with a pool. The mood is quiet and sunlit, with palms over the loungers and the Aegean a few steps past them.
