Domes White Coast Milos stands at Mytakas, on the north-west coast of the island, and the whole house faces west. There are 50 suites, each with a private terrace and a pool of its own, looking to the white rock of Sarakiniko, to the main pool, to the sea or to the horizon. The Sea View suites take in 180 degrees of coast.

It is adults only, 16 and over. Besides the pool on each terrace there is one central pool, and the beach is a few minutes’ walk below. White Coast is a Domes Reserve, the tier the Thessaloniki group keeps for handpicked locations with unspoiled architecture and cultural heritage; the group’s other houses are in Greece, Portugal and Spain.

A house drawn to its plot

The drawings are by Giorgos Tsolakis, Tsolakis + Partners of Athens, and the stark white cubism answers the geometry of a Cycladic settlement. The volumes were aligned to the shape and the orientation of the plot, which is what keeps the sea and sunset views uninterrupted, and they follow the natural contours of the ground rather than cutting across it. The continuous front divides into four parts according to the relief of the landscape. Reception and restaurant face the sunset, and a path between those two volumes leads to an amphitheatric area that ends at a communal pool.

Cement mortar in earthy tones covers the surfaces inside and out. Parapets are part built wall and part glass, and rectangular openings alternate with elongated ones. The stairwells and the lift break the ridge of the building, so the mass reads as one off-white volume defined by light and shade. The facade was drawn to the wind as well: openings in the roof channel the strong wind upwards to cool the veranda.

The original house was constructed in 2020, expanded since. The interiors are by Thingk, with Sophia Vantaraki, and the landscape is by Phoebe Christara.

The expansion

The same practice drew the expansion that took the house to its present size: 13 new room buildings, a restaurant with a communal pool, a spa and rejuvenation building, and the outdoor arrangements that support them. The plot is rugged and faces west, so the volumes were again laid to its contours. Ground-floor sections sit semi-underground under green roofs and act as the base for the structures above, which carry the same Cycladic geometry as the original. White rooms alternate with stone ones, which fragments the mass and varies the skyline, and the stone volumes settle into the hillside. A Z-shaped path ties the buildings together and ends at the semi-underground restaurant, with its seating and pool areas, and a small trail runs on down to the beachfront. Resting platforms and viewing points are set along the route. The house was closed for the works and took no reservations until 30 June 2026.

The suites

Six categories are offered, all of them for two adults in one king bed, each with a bathroom with a shower. The smallest is the 27 sq m Deluxe Suite, in three versions: Horizon View with a plunge pool, Sea View with a private glass pool, and Sea View with a private pool, the last running to 29 sq m. The Superior Suite Sea View is 29 sq m with a plunge pool. The largest is the White Coast Suite at 38 sq m with a private pool, offered in both the Horizon View and the Panoramic Sea View aspect.

The kitchen

The kitchen is Makris Milos, chef patron Petros Dimas, and it is sister to Makris in Athens. Comfort food is the starting point, and the same kitchen covers breakfast and poolside snacks as well as dinner. A sunset dinner can also be set privately above the Aegean, served course by course with butler-style service and digestifs afterwards.

Who is this for

Two people, and days with no fixed plan. The ground is bare volcanic hillside at Mytakas Triovasalou, and the atmosphere is secluded and modern. There is a bar for cocktails or champagne with small plates while the pink light falls on the cliffs at Sarakiniko, and a table in the open air on the terrace after it. Parking is free, there is a garden and a lounge, and the front desk is staffed around the clock. Check-in is at 3pm and the whole house is non-smoking.
