AMOH opened at Kavos Beach on 28 April 2026, on a peninsula near the village of Pefki where two sandy coves meet a cut limestone quarry. It is the first hotel on Rhodes from the Luxury Collection hotel brand. It has 197 rooms and suites, run by Wavemaker Hospitality, in low buildings around a central courtyard with the sea on either side.

The setting

AMOH is well down the east coast of Rhodes, 10 kilometres from both Lindos and St Paul’s Bay, each about 15 minutes away by car. Lindos is a white village below an acropolis, the ancient citadel on its high rock. Rhodes Old Town is 50 kilometres north, so a stay here centres on the peninsula and Lindos.

Both coves are a walk from the rooms. Kavos is the larger beach, with loungers and a bar. Kymata has only 12 places, on two raised terraces beside the seafood restaurant of the same name. That is unusually small for a hotel of 197 rooms.

The design

Savvas Kampouropoulos, an architect from Rhodes, designed the low-rise buildings, and Studio Lost of London designed the interiors. Outside, the buildings are stone-coloured blocks among planted paths. Inside, the rooms use pale oak, woven headboards and warm bronze. Design Pergola made furniture for the lobby, the lounges, the restaurants and the suites.

The quarry works best where it has been left alone. At Cava di Pietra, a timber dining deck faces the cut rock and scrub, and the old workings are the view. Around the main pool, blue patterned fabrics on the daybeds pick up the pattern of the tiles and break up the stone colours, which could otherwise run together into one long stretch of beige.

The cut limestone was on the headland long before the furniture and the planting, and it gives AMOH a sense of age. Kampouropoulos and Studio Lost make that age part of the design, especially where the restaurants and terraces face the rock.

The rooms

The smallest rooms, the Hemera Hideaways, are 32 to 38 m². Eos suites are 46 to 51 m² and Selene suites 58 to 61 m². Above them are the Galene, 123 m² on two levels, and the 178 m² Rhoda Presidential Suite. The Greek names say little on their own. The full name of each category carries the practical detail.

In most categories, the view and a private pool are separate choices. A room comes with an inland or a sea view, and with a balcony or a private pool. The last words of a category name, such as “private pool sea view” or “inland view”, tell you what you are booking.

The table

AMOH has eight places to eat and drink: four restaurants, and four bars and lounges called Isle, AMOHNITE, the AMOH Lounge and a cigar lounge. Lithos serves the breakfast buffet and Mediterranean dinners. Cava di Pietra serves Italian food beside the quarry. Kymata serves Greek seafood. Glaze pairs aged meat from a Josper charcoal grill with sushi and a teppanyaki counter, where chefs cook on an iron griddle in front of guests.

Each restaurant takes its character from where it stands: Kymata beside its small cove, Cava di Pietra against the rock face, and Lithos in the main building, where the day begins. Glaze puts a steakhouse, a sushi bar and a teppanyaki counter under one roof, so it has the widest menu and the least connection to Rhodes. For Greek cooking, Kymata is the place to go.

The wellness

Elispa, the spa, has six single treatment rooms and a couples’ suite with its own Jacuzzi. There is also a steam bath, a sauna, a wet lounge and a hair and nail salon. Treatments use Cretan herbs, volcanic clay and olive oil, and the wider programme gives movement equal weight.

A 220 m² Technogym fitness centre sits alongside a Pilates studio, yoga classes, outdoor tennis and a second pool that runs from covered space into open air. That pool should be useful in the hottest hours of a Rhodes afternoon, when shade matters as much as water.

Who is this for

AMOH suits couples, families and small groups who want a large resort that still feels secluded, close to Lindos but away from its crowds. The resort sits low and stone-coloured on a green peninsula, and its suites step down towards a curved cove of pale sand and clear turquoise water. An old olive tree and cypresses stand by the main pool, and every room has its own terrace or balcony.
