In a Bright Green Field is a collaborative exhibition presented by the DESTE Foundation and the New Museum, in partnership with the Benaki Museum, gathering twenty-nine young Greek and Cypriot artists at Pireos 138 in Athens from 12 June to 13 September 2025.
In a Bright Green Field is a collaborative exhibition presented by the DESTE Foundation and the New Museum of New York, in partnership with the Benaki Museum, held at the museum’s Pireos 138 building in Athens from 12 June to 13 September 2025. It is the third joint exhibition in this series, devoted to contemporary Greek and Cypriot practice, and was curated by Gary Carrion-Murayari, the Kraus Family Senior Curator at the New Museum.
The show gathered twenty-nine young artists working across media from Athens, Nicosia and beyond, focusing on possible futures involving renewed relationships with the natural world and more open approaches to community. The DESTE Foundation was established by the collector Dakis Joannou in 1983; Pireos 138 is the Benaki Museum’s industrial exhibition hall on Pireos Street.
