From Monet to Warhol is a loan exhibition of eighty-three works by forty-five modern and contemporary artists, held at the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation in Athens from 6 December 2025 to 11 April 2026. The works are drawn from a single European private collection assembled across three generations of one family, many of them shown in Greece for the first time.
The exhibition spans roughly a hundred and thirty years and more than twelve movements: from Impressionism through Post-Impressionism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Cubism, abstraction and Surrealism to Pop. Artists represented include Monet, Degas, Morisot, Pissarro, Seurat, Signac, Gauguin, Toulouse-Lautrec, Matisse, Picasso, Modigliani, Chagall, Kandinsky, Munch, Magritte, Lichtenstein and Warhol. It is curated by Marie Koutsomallis-Moreau, head of collections at the Foundation, with Marina Ferretti Bocquillon, scientific director emerita of the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny.
The Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation was established by the Andriot shipowner Basil Goulandris and his wife Elise. Its Athens museum opened in October 2019 in a 1920s neoclassical mansion on Eratosthenous Street in Pangrati.
