The Cleveland Orchestra and Franz Welser-Möst at the Megaron will be a symphony concert in the Christos Lambrakis Hall of the Athens Concert Hall on Wednesday 21 October 2026. The Cleveland Orchestra, from the American city of the same name, will play under the conductor Franz Welser-Möst. He has been its music director since 2002, and the 2026 to 27 season is his 25th and last in the post.
The evening will open with Liszt’s symphonic poem Orpheus and close with Brahms’s Second Symphony. Between them will come Bohuslav Martinů’s Second Symphony, written in 1943. Athens will close the orchestra’s 2026 European tour: 15 concerts in 9 countries between 2 and 21 October, the first of them at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg. The orchestra will play the Thessaloniki Concert Hall the night before, on 20 October.
